Mrs. Richard Henry

  • Family: Husband Richard Henry is CEO of Primus Advertising, based in County Tipperary, Ireland, and also heads up Premier Bloodstock, which owns Jude, the dam of Yesterday. Primus is a marketing and advertising agency that has promoted Coolmore internationally since the mid-80s, developing it into the strongest worldwide brand in breeding and racing
  • They have two children, Nichola and Gregory
  • Racing Background: Roisin also has a strong background in racing. As an equine physiotherapist, she has worked with many of Europe's top stables and trainers. Currently, Roisin has two horses in training in partnership with Susan Magnier—Yesterday and her 3-year-old full sister, Because, both at Ballydoyle with Aidan O'Brien. Yesterday is the best horse Mrs. Henry has owned, closely followed by her full sister, Quarter Moon. Quarter Moon was a high-class performer winning a group I at 2 and finishing second in three classics— the Epsom Oaks, 1000 Guineas and the Irish Oaks in 2002
  • She is currently in foal to Danehill. All three fillies are by Sadler's Wells, Coolmore's most famous stallion
  • Breeding Operation: Premier Bloodstock started in 1992. The breeding operation owns five mares, three boarded at Coolmore Stud in Ireland and two at Ashford Stud in Kentucky. This small base has proved highly successful, having bred five stakes winners, including Grazalema, Princess Carla and Eminence Grise
  • Yesterday's family has enjoyed great success over the last decade. Last Second, a half-sister to the dam of Yesterday, Jude, was a dual group II winner in 1996 and nearly won the Coronation Stakes, while Alouette, one of two stakes-winning sisters to Jude, has bred the excellent fillies Alborada, twice winner of the Champion Stakes, and Albanova who has won three group I races in Germany in 2004. Jude also has a talented half-sister in Alleluia, a Caerleon filly who stayed well enough to win the Doncaster Cup over 21/4 miles. Not only has Jude been an extraordinary broodmare, she also has provided the inspiration for using musical tributes in naming her offspring. Her first foal was named after an Emmylou Harris album Quarter Moon and second foal, Yesterday, was named after the Beatles' hit of the same name.
