Education: Jennifer McCutcheon has an undergraduate degree from Miami University (Ohio), a law degree from Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Ill. and master's degree in international and European union law from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland
Racing Background: Industrialist Russell Reineman passed away due to natural causes March 23, 2004 at the age of 86 … He began working for Crown Steel in 1941 and owned the company from 1955 until his passing. It remains in family control … McCutcheon was a prosecutor before taking over the daily operations of the Reineman family stable in September of 2004. “We always grew up participating in racing to some degree,” McCutcheon said. “But it just kind of worked out that way when I came home from my last degree (in Scotland), that there was too much to manage in the businesses my grandfather left behind. We had to split the duties. I was excited because I love horse racing, but I certainly didn't understand everything involved. There's a lot more work than it seems; it's not just going to races in afternoon to watch.”
Breeding/Racing Operation: Reineman purchased his first Thoroughbred in 1950 … He had a longstanding relationship with Kentucky breeder Charles Nuckols Jr. and still boards many of the stable's horses with the Nuckols family today … Nuckols and Reineman struck gold in 1999 when an Our Emblem colt out of their mare Sweetest Lady was foaled. The result was 2002 Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Haskell winner War Emblem … Reineman won the 2002 Illinois Derby with War Emblem before selling all but 10 percent interest to The Thoroughbred Corp. for a reported $900,000 … War Emblem ran in his new majority owners' silks for the remainder of his career, concluding with an eighth-place finish in the 2002 Breeders' Cup at Reineman's home track at Arlington … In all, the current roster of horses for the Russell L. Reineman Stable, Inc. totals approximately 100, including broodmares, foals and horses on the track … Stable's trainers include Bobby Springer, Brian Williamson, Tony Mitchell, Scooter Dickey and Carl Nafzger among others … Top notable horses include stakes runners Powerful Punch, Wise Times and Distorted Humor, as well as 2005 Arlington-Washington Lassie winner Original Spin ... The stable was represented as co-breeder of 2007 Breeders' Cup Juvenile contender Your Round.
