Racing Career: Some of Ouaki’s better-known horses include Marchand de Sable, who won the 1992 Criterium de Saint-Cloud and now stands as a stallion, and Commercante, winner of the 2003 Prix de Psyche … In America, he was the owner of Bonapartiste, winner of the Del Mar Handicap in 1998 and two-time Breeders’ Cup Turf starter (ninth in 1998, sixth in 1999) ... Also owned multiple stakes winner Whywhywhy, 10th in the 2002 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile and sire of Nownownow, winner of the inaugural running of the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf in 2007 ... He also raced Camille, Good Enough and Golden Arches ... Owns Stream Cat, eighth in the 2005 Juvenile, in partnership with Team Derby Dreams Stable ... Stream Cat continues to be one of his top runners in ’07, most recently finishing third in the Kentucky Cup Classic behind Hard Spun and Street Sense
Breeding/Racing Operation: Maintained a small breeding operation at Haras de Bernesq near Bayeux in Normandy, France. He dispersed his breeding operation in 2003 at the Deauville December sale … Had employed California-based trainer Ron McAnally in the past but now his American runners are with fellow countryman Patrick Biancone ... He and Biancone were childhood friends and Ouaki’s father was a longtime client of Biancone’s ... In Jan. 2008, Ouaki and Biancone purchased 120 acres of the Hurricane Hall property which includes a one-mile European-style training track with a Polytrack surface.
