Strengths: Amazingly consistent, she’s lit the tote in all 13 of her career starts, winning four times. Has a pair of grade 1 wins on her resume, capturing the Mother Goose and the Coaching Club American Oaks in succession. She’s scored victories at distances ranging from 4 1/2 furlongs to 1 1/4 miles.

Status: Bought by Darley at the 2007 Fasig-Tipton November mixed sale for $4 million. She has been retired and will be bred in 2008 to Discreet Cat.

In the Genes: Her sire, Unbridled’s Song, won the 1995 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, and his sire, Unbridled, won both the Kentucky Derby and the Breeders’ Cup Classic in 1990.

Bet You Didn’t Know: Only two 3-year-olds have won the Distaff at first asking against their elders, Ashado (’04), also trained by Todd Pletcher, and Dance Smartly (’91).
