Strengths: Versatile veteran has shown the ability to put in superb efforts from both on the early pace and from further back in the field. Consistent horse has finished in the exacta in 12 of 16 starts and has never finished more than 2 3/4 lengths behind the winner in any race.

Weaknesses: Winless in three tries at the grade 1 level, he must prove himself against the best from around the country and world. Has competed exclusively on firm turf courses, so condition could be a factor if the weather goes awry.

In The Genes: Sire, Chayim, best known in the Southern Hemisphere for producing Soul Provider, winner of the Venezuelan 2000 Guineas. As a racehorse, Chayim placed third in the Oceanside Stakes at Del Mar.

Status: Retired and will be begin a career at stud in 2008. The Venezuelan-bred will stand in Australia at George Fraser's Ilala Stud, based on the outskirts of Scone in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales, for a fee of $7,700Aus.
