Strengths: Blossoming veteran has shown what he can do when healthy in 2008 with his explosive late kick. Rare ability for a turf horse to dominate his competition, he’s registered multiple daylight wins at the highest levels when at his peak. He’s a pure 1-1/2 miles marathoner in America with a pedigree and running style to carry him through any distance or course condition.

Weaknesses: Inconsistent throughout his career, he’s had as many finishes outside the exacta as he’s had in it. Was no match when sixth in last year’s Breeders’ Cup Turf, one of several struggles he’s had when venturing out on the road. Has not fared nearly as well on firm turf courses as those with extra give in them.
