2008 Record: (2-1-1-0)
2008 Earnings: $150,000
2008 Win %: 50% In-The-Money %: 100%

Qualified for the TVG Breeders' Cup Sprint via a victory in the Pat O'Brien Handicap on August 19, 2007 at Del Mar, one of the Breeders' Cup Challenge series races.

Strengths: Strong finisher puts in a top-class effort nearly every trip to the post and has proven himself against the very best competition on the west coast. Incredibly consistent, he’s finished first or second in 19 of 25 career starts and has over $1 million in lifetime earnings.

In The Genes: Son of Del Mar grass stakes winner Lake George, who finished 18th in the 1995 Kentucky Derby. First foal out of the mare Lake Windermere, who hails from the same female family of top contemporary sprinter Battle Won.

Status: Greg's Gold was retired in May, 2008, because of a recurrence of a tendon injury. He will be given several months off and then be retrained as a riding horse and live out his days at Harris Farms in Coalinga, Calif.

Bet You Didn’t Know: After winning the 2005 Bing Crosby Handicap, Greg's Gold underwent surgery for a bowed tendon. The revolutionary procedure involved the harvesting of stem cells from his fat and using them to repair his tendon. He was laid off for 18 months for the surgery and recovery.
