Strengths: Local star has a strong affinity for Monmouth Park and has had a light campaign leading toward a peak performance in the Breeders’ Cup. Company lines vs. the likes of Diabolical, Master Command, Flower Alley and Smokey Stover shows he can handle this class level. A 2-turn, middle-distance race plays to his strength.
In the Genes: Sire, Citidancer, best known for producing top mares Urbane and Hookedonthefeelin. The only previous Breeders’ Cup starter for Citidancer came with 1995 Juvenile Fillies fourth-place finisher Mystic Rhythms. Citidancer was pensioned (retired) from stud duty in 2005.
Status: Retired after his 2007 campaign that ended with a seventh-place finish in the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile. He earned over $1 million in a career that included four New Jersey championship titles, most notably 2005 Horse of the Year. He will stand at Colonial Farm in Colts Neck, New Jersey, for an initial fee of $3,500.
Bet You Didn’t Know: The only New Jersey-bred to win a Breeders’ Cup championship was 1988 Juvenile Fillies heroine Open Mind.
