Strengths: Stalk-and-pounce winner of both career starts in Canada, successfully ascending to the graded stakes level in just her second lifetime start. Pedigree to handle additional distances as well as multiple surfaces.
Weaknesses: She’s yet to travel around two turns and has raced on turf only. Possessing a strong closing kick in those events, can she duplicate it with a faster dirt pace and around a second bend.
In the Genes: Daughter of 2002 Breeders’ Cup Classic upset winner Volponi, a consistent performer who won or placed in 14 stakes races on turf and dirt. Cleary Foxy is from the first crop of Volponi offspring to race. Maternal granddaughter of 1997 Blue Grass winner Pulpit.
Bet You Didn’t Know: Trainer Mark Casse saddled the 1-2-3 finishers in the Natalma Stakes this fall, with Cleary Foxy 17-to-1 and odds-on favorite Lickety Lemon in third.

Biographies on jockeys, trainers and owners are from the Breeders' Cup World Championships events from 2001 through 2009, and are intended as informational resources. Biographies will be updated if an individual is again a participant in the Breeders' Cup World Championships. Biographies are available for most horses appearing in the top 100 money earnings list, and/or for those who are frequently making headlines in the news starting with the 2006 Triple Crown season.
