Mike Connors


  • Born: Oct. 7, 1952
  • Residence: Pleasanton, Calif.
  • Family: wife Paris; two children
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from Sacramento State
  • Professional Background: Owner of Hap's Original, in Pleasanton, an upscale steak and seafood restaurant
  • Racing Background: "Dragged" to the races at the Sacramento State Fair as a child by his mother and aunt
  • Racing Career: Got involved in owning horses "back whenever" (at least 20 years ago) with trainer Tom Roberts and a $5,000 claimer ... He's raced about 30 horses around the Northern and North-Central California area, and won over 120 races ... He and his partners purchased Shore Do out of the 2007 Barretts March 2-year-olds in training sale. The son of Include is by far the best horse Connors has had, and, off a promising effort in the Norfolk, Shore Do earned a slot in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile where he finished off the board 
  • Breeding/Racing Operation: Connors has broodmares in California and Kentucky.
