Breeding/Racing Operation: His interest in racing was heightened when he lived in Louisville and became good friends with Tom Evans and Ted Forrest. The three each own one-third of the mare Candytuft, dam of Midnight Lute ... He owns another mare with Evans and Forrest; she is boarded at Evans' Trackside Farm, along with Candytuft ... Burke has owned and raced a few horses over the years, but says "the satisfaction of seeing a horse succeed on the track that you have raised is by far, more gratifying." ... Burke was thrilled to see his first Breeders' Cup participant win on the sloppy Monmouth track and earn championship honors. Midnight Lute will go for the repeat in 2008.
