Racing Career: Got into racing five years ago with a couple of claiming horses at Charles Town racetrack ... Decided he wanted to upgrade his stable and hooked up with trainer Ken McPeek two years ago ... First really good horse with McPeek was Bold Start, third in the 2006 Cradle Stakes at River Downs and then in 2007 was second in the Hutcheson Stakes, third in the Illinois Derby and third in the Derby Trial before finishing sixth in the King's Bishop Stakes, where he sustained a hairline leg fracture and was put away for the year ... "We think he'll come back strong next year as a 4-year-old," Carroll said ... Old Man Buck, heading toward the Breeders' Cup Juvenile, brought the owner his first stakes victory by winning the 2007 Cradle Stakes.
