Hal J. Earnhardt III

  • Family: wife Patti, children Dodge, Daisy, Derby, and Dream
  • Primary Business: Owns and operates "the world's largest auto retailer," dealing in Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Ford, Honda, Nissan, Kia's, and recreational vehicles
  • Earnhardt's auto retail business grosses about $1 billion in annual sales
  • he followed his father and grandfather into the business
  • Racing Operation: Has raced Thoroughbreds for more than 20 years
  • Was introduced to the track through his grandfather, who also owned racehorses
  • Earnhardt has always had an affinity for and affiliation with horses
  • he grew up rodeoing, and still works cattle and ropes
