An iron horse like Twilight Eclipse is what dreams are made of. Purchased for $1,000 as a yearling at the January Horses of All Ages Sale at Keeneland in 2010, he’s gone on to earn nearly $2.1 million in his five seasons of racing.
In 36 career starts, Twilight Eclipse has finished on the board in 23 stakes, including 12 times in a grade one stakes and five times in grade two’s. From 36 starts, he has a record of eight wins, five second and 11 thirds.
He handles change like the champ he is — he's competed at 10 different tracks in seven states and Dubai, and he’s been ridden by 11 different jockeys. This will be his fourth appearance in the Breeders’ Cup Longines Turf — with his best appearance thus far a third-place finish in the 2014 edition.
Twilight Eclipse snared his first G1 triumph in the 2014 Man O’War at Belmont after several victories in G2 and G3 company. The 7-year-old gelding is the world record holder [2:22.63] at a mile and half on the turf, taken when he won the G2 Pan American at Gulfstream Park back in 2013.
West Point Thoroughbreds purchased the son of Purim for $125,000 after he won his first two lifetime starts.
