Kentucky-bred Ryans Charm is the queen of turf in Peru. A $6,000 yearling purchase at Keeneland in 2011, the 6-year-old mare has won 15 of 24 starts and earned more than $164,000.
She is riding a six-race win streak that stretches back to May 2015, which helped the daughter of Heatseeker earn the distinction as Peru’s Champion Grass Mare last year.
In late June, she earned a berth in the starting gate for the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf with her second consecutive victory in the G1 Gran Premio Pamplona at Hipodromo Monterrico near Lima, Peru.
She has run outside her home country only twice before, and won the 2013 G1 Copa de Plata in Argentina, but was disqualified and placed fourth.
