With Honors represents the culmination of LNJ Foxwoods’ plan to breed and race high-class runners. She is the first homebred for the group comprising Nanci and Larry Roth and their daughter, Jaime. They made their Breeders’ Cup debut last year with horses bred by others when Nickname finished fourth in the Juvenile Fillies and Super Majesty was 12th in the Filly & Mare Sprint. LNJ Foxwoods will be honored as New Owner of the Year during Breeders’ Cup week by the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association.
With Honors lived up to her billing as the favorite in her career debut by leading at every step to win in July at Del Mar. In her second start, she had to fight for the lead, but still proved best in the Del Mar Juvenile Fillies Turf Stakes in early September. In her only other start, she was narrowly beaten in the Chandelier Stakes (G1) at Santa Anita on October 1.
The LNJ Foxwoods stable moniker is derived from their initials and the name of the street where Jaime Roth grew up. Jaime inspired her parents to invest in Thoroughbreds in 2012 and they quickly began buying high-dollar racing prospects and broodmares with long range plans of retiring the fillies and breeding their own horses. Their purchases include Life Happened, dam of 2015 Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1) winner Tepin, for $750,000 at the 2014 Keeneland January Horses of All ages sale.
