Myboycharlie triumphs in Darley Prix Morny


Myboycharlie remained undefeated with an emphatic two-length victory in the Darley Prix Morny (Fr-I) at Deauville Aug.19.

With the win, Myboycharlie thrust himself squarely into the 2008 classic picture in England, with his future book odds dropping from 16-1 before the Prix Morny to 7-1 afterward for the Stan James Two Thousand Guineas (Eng-I).

The Prix Morny lost some of its luster when morning line favorite Winker Watson was withdrawn due to the heavy rainfall received at the seaside racecourse early that morning.

Myboycharlie appeared to relish the soggy conditions, though. Jockey Kieren Fallon kept him just off the pace set by the gray filly, Natagora, who had captured the Prix Robert Papin (Fr-II) in her previous start.

Natagora, under jockey Christophe Lemaire, set a sensible pace throughout the first five furlongs. Fallon and Myboycharlie tracked the pair from third and quickly accelerated past the filly in the final furlong to win going away.

Natagora held on for second, a half-length in front of Alexandros. Time for the six furlongs was 1:13.1.

Myboycharlie, a son of the deceased stallion Danetime, was recently purchased by Coolmore after his easy seven-length victory in the Dubai Duty Free Anglesey Stakes (Ire-III) in July. He remains und
