Superfectas reinstated on all Breeders' Cup races

LEXINGTON, Ky. (October 7, 2008) - The Breeders' Cup announced today a revised wagering menu which will now include the Superfecta wager on all 14 Breeders' Cup World Championships races, October 24-25 at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif.
In an wagering menu announcement made last week, Superfecta wagering was not offered on the Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic or the Breeders' Cup Classic. This year's Superfecta wager will offer a 10-cent minimum on all 14 Breeders' Cup races.
"We heard the fans loud and clear and recognize that they would be better served if we reinstated the 10-cent Superfecta betting on the two Classic races," said Ken Kirchner, who oversees wagering programs for the Breeders' Cup.
In addition to the 10-Cent Superfecta wager, this year's Breeders' Cup features the world's largest guaranteed pool, the $3 million Ultra Pick 6, which will be offered on Championship Saturday. There will also be a Breeders' Cup Pick 6 on Championship Friday, with a carryover provision into Saturday if no one correctly selects the six winners. Also new this year is Super High 5 wagering on both the Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic and the Breeders' Cup Classic. In addition, two of the Breeders' Cup Saturday Pick 4s are guaranteed, with the early Pick 4 starting on race 2 at a $1 million guarantee and the Pick 4 starting on race 6 with a $2 million guarantee.
The official race order for the World Championships will be announced on Thursday, October 16.

Among such reasons could be totalisator failure; communication line disruptions; inability to merge pools from all sites; domestic and/or international conditions that may impact the pools; and other circumstances deemed by Oak Tree or Breeders' Cup.
