Race Comments: DANCING IN SILKS settled in good position in the early going, raced just off the pace along the backstretch, gradually moved to the outside while closing the gap on the turn, angled four wide at the quarter pole, gained steadily to challenge inside the sixteenth pole then prevailed under a vigorous hand ride after a long drive. CROWN OF THORNS was rated in the middle of the pack while unhurried along the backstretch, gradually gained slightly off the rail leaving the turn, swung five wide entering the stretch then finished strongly in the middle of the track but could not get up in a tight finish. COST OF FREEDOM sprinted clear in the early stages, set the pace inside for a half, extended his lead a bit in midstretch, continued on the front while drifting out a bit in deep stretch and yielded grudgingly. GAYEGO was outrun for a half after breaking slowly, rapidly closed the gap while saving ground at the quarter pole, got through along the fence while gaining in upper stretch and finished well along the inside but could not get up. ZENSATIONAL raced up close in hand through the opening quarter, steadied while boxed in on the rail midway on the turn, altered course between rivals at the top of the stretch and lacked a strong closing response. FATAL BULLET pressed the pace in the two path for a half, battled into midstretch then steadied in traffic while tiring in deep stretch. FLEETING SPIRIT (IRE) failed to mount a serious rally. CAPT. CANDYMAN CAN raced between horses while well back for a half and lacked a late response. JOIN IN THE DANCE raced in midpack while five wide for a half and faded in the stretch.
