Sitting last in a field of 12 on the final turn after a shuffled-back start, Nownownow made one of the most memorable runs of Breeders’ Cup 2007 under jockey Julien Leparoux, passing the entire field with a six-wide stretch move to score by a half-length in the inaugural running of the Juvenile Turf on a soft course at Monmouth Park. Sent off at odds of nearly 13-1, the Kentucky-bred son of Whywhywhy, owned by French clothier Fabien Quaki, posted only the second victory of his 2-year-old season. His only other win came in the With Anticipation at Saratoga Race Course at the end of August. It was Leparoux’s first Breeders’ Cup win.
Nownownow underwent a series of different trainers when regular conditioner Patrick Biancone was saddled with a suspension, but it was Francois Parisel who saddled the colt bred by Quaki to his French mare Here and Now for his biggest victory. The colt was sent to Europe the following spring, but later returned to race in the states after an unsuccessful campaign abroad.
