Hollywood Wildcat came into the 1993 Distaff with four impressive victories, and she made the Distaff the fifth and most impressive of all, with a gritty win over defending Distaff champion Paseana, and future Hall of Famer Sky Beauty. Hollywood Wildcat opened her career with four consecutive victories, but then fell victim to injury. She returned to form late in 1993, capping an Eclipse Award year with the Distaff win.

It was the second win of the day for rider Eddie Delahoussaye, who won the Sprint earlier with Cardmania. It was the third Breeders' Cup victory for trainer Neil Drysdale. Hollywood Wildcat returned to the Distaff at Churchill Downs in 1994, but finished sixth.
