Named for the famed Saratoga Racecourse, Dayatthespa scored her greatest victory at Santa Anita in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf. The win was a satisfying finale to a career that spanned four years, taking the New York-bred City Zip mare across North America. She won 11 of 18 starts, and finished second in four other races, earning more than $2.2 million along the way. In the Filly and Mare Turf, she defeated 2011 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf champion Stephanie's Kitten by 1 1/2 lengths. The 2013 winner, Dank, was fourth.
Bred by Castellare DiCracchiolo Stable, Cracchiolo & Goldsher, owned in partnership, and trained by Chad Brown, Dayatthespa sold to Stonestreet Stable for $1.2 million at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky November sale following the Breeders' Cup.
