LEXINGTON, Ky. (October 2, 2014) – The Breeders’ Cup and Keeneland today unveiled the official event logo for the 2015 Breeders’ Cup World Championships to be held next year at Keeneland Race Course on October 30 and 31, 2015.
The Breeders’ Cup, consisting of 13 Grade One races held over two days with purses and awards totaling $26 million, attracts the top Thoroughbred horses from around the globe. The 2015 event will mark the first time that that the Breeders’ Cup World Championships will be held at historic Keeneland in Lexington, the heart of the Bluegrass country and where the idea of the Breeders’ Cup was conceived.
The 2015 Breeders’ Cup will be televised live by the NBC Sports Group, climaxing with the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic, which will be broadcast live on NBC on October 31.
The logo was unveiled at a public gathering Thursday evening at the Fifth Third Pavilion in Lexington.
The 2015 official event logo incorporates iconic images of Keeneland, beginning with its stately Keeneland green gate posts, which welcome guests at the main entrances of the racetrack and flank the purple Breeders’ Cup signature logo in the center in of the mark. The words “2015 Breeders’ Cup World Championships” in gold form a semi-circle over the top of the logo. The foundation of the logo features a second gold circle pulling elements of the KA wreath, with the words “Keeneland” at the top and centered between the words “Lexington” and “Kentucky” in a purple ribbon bisecting the bottom of the mark. A circular purple band surrounds the entire logo.
“The 2015 Event Logo incorporates the heritage and tradition of Keeneland along with the excitement of the Breeders’ Cup brand,” said Craig Fravel, Breeders’ Cup President and CEO. “There is great anticipation and enthusiasm for next year’s Breeders’ Cup at Keeneland, and we are just as excited to bring our Championships home to Lexington.”

Select official event merchandise with the 2015 logo on assorted apparel items will be available at Keeneland starting Friday, October 3, opening day of the Fall Meet. Merchandise also will be available on-line at both the Breeders’ Cup and Keeneland websites beginning in November.
