Shamdinan runs to lift confidence
Shamdinan, the runner-up in the Breeders' Cup Turf last fall, was one of the eight nominees for Saturday's $250,000 Jim Murray Handicap at Hollywood Park. But instead of running him in that Grade 2 race over 1 1/2 miles on turf, trainer Doug O'Neill has opted for a $70,000 allowance race over a mile on turf later on Saturday's program.

Big plans for Tropic Storm
Tropic Storm is bound for the $100,000 Ack Ack Handicap Handicap on June 7 after winning an optional claimer over 7 1/2 furlongs on Wednesday. Trainer Craig Dollase hopes to get Tropic Storm to the $1 million Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile at the Oak Tree at Santa Anita meeting on Oct. 25.

Good Ba Ba captures Champions Mile
John Yuen’s six-year-old gelding Good Ba Ba solidified his reputation as the top miler in the Far East on Sunday by capturing the $1 million Champions Mile (G1) at Sha Tin Racecourse and becoming the first horse to qualify for the 2008 Breeders’ Cup World Championships through the Breeders’ Cup Challenge series.

Mrs. Lindsay can add her name to a list of female Prix Ganay winners that includes Aquarelliste, Triptych, and Trillion on Sunday at Longchamp. A 4-year-old Theatrical filly owned by Bettina Jenney of Pennsylvania, Mrs. Lindsay will be perfectly suited by the conditions of the Ganay, a 1 5/16-mile Group 1 contest worth $470,000.
