Nomination Discount for Breeders' Cup Horses of Racing Age Ends July 15

Unbeaten in four starts, Conquest Tsunami makes his graded stakes debut for trainer Mark Casse in the $200,000 Summer Stakes (Can-IIT) on the Woodbine turf Sept. 13.
Game On Dude, the only horse ever to win three runnings of the Santa Anita Handicap (gr. I), has been retired after compiling earnings of nearly $6.5 million, trainer Bob Baffert announced Sept. 18.
American Pharoah looks to solidify his status as the likely favorite for the Nov. 1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I) in the $300,000 FrontRunner Stakes (gr. I) Sept. 27, taking on nine others at Santa Anita Park.

He used the same tactics to win Saturday’s $300,750 FrontRunner Stakes over 1 1/16 miles at Santa Anita, a victory expected to make him the favorite for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile here on Nov. 1.
Odds-on choice Conquest Harlanate used a ground-saving trip under Patrick Husbands to post an authoritative victory in the $179,264 Mazarine Stakes (Can-III) Oct. 5 for her second graded stakes win in a row at Woodbine.
Since the inception of the Turf Sprint (gr. IT) to the Breeders' Cup World Championships in 2008, four of the six renewals have been over Santa Anita Park's unique downhill turf course at the distance of about 6 1/2 furlongs.
Trainer Charlie LoPresti said Oct. 11 he has yet to exactly pinpoint a date for the final pre-race work of Morton Fink's two-time Horse of the Year Wise Dan leading up to the Nov. 1 Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT), though it could come Oct. 16 at Keeneland.
Some have retired, a hearty few race on—but regardless of where they are today, the winners of last year's Breeders' Cup World Championships will always have their place in history.
