Breeders' Cup Charities was founded in 2008 as the official charity outreach program for the Breeders' Cup World Championships. The program is designed to support a variety of important causes and has raised over $1.3 million to date.

Breeders' Cup and Maker's Mark® have teamed up again to create a second, three-bottle, limited-edition collection featuring a few of the most legendary Champions in Breeders’ Cup history. Each bottle pays tribute with a customized design by Louisville artist David Schuster. The 2018 beneficiaries include Old Friends and the Kentucky Derby Museum. The first bottle in new the collection will feature legendary trainer, D. Wayne Lukas.

Champions for Charity, was launched in 2015 in partnership with Maker's Mark®. The program was designed to support both Equine charities as well as local charities in the markets the Breeders’ Cup World Championships are hosted. Each year of the first, three-year program, a Limited-Edition Commemorative Maker’s Mark® Bottle was released featuring a Breeders’ Cup Champion.

The 2015 bottles featured A.P. Indy, Lure, and Personal Ensign and the beneficiaries included Grayson Jockey Club Foundation, Kentucky Horse Park Foundation, The Lexington Cancer Foundation, The Race for Education, Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance, and the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center Foundation. The 2016 bottle featured Zenyatta and the beneficiary was Old Friends Farm. The 2017 limited-edition bottle featured Cigar with proceeds benefiting Old Friends Farm and the Edwin J. Gregson Foundation.
