LOUISVILLE, Ky. (June 15, 2013) – Defending Breeders’ Cup Classic (GI) winner Fort Larned became the first horse to qualify for the 2013 Breeders’ Cup Classic through the Breeders’ Cup Challenge series by winning the $500,000 Stephen Foster Handicap (G1) presented by Abu Dhabi at Churchill Downs Saturday evening by 6 ¼ lengths over Golden Ticket.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (June 13, 2013) – Led by defending Breeders’ Cup Classic winner Fort Larned and 2-1 favorite Successful Dan, the first Breeders’ Cup Challenge automatic qualifying position for the $5 million Classic is on the line Saturday evening at Churchill Downs with the 32nd running of the $500,000-added Stephen Foster Handicap Presented by Abu Dhabi (GI).
The Breeders’ Cup announced today that Santa Anita Park, in Arcadia, Calif., has been selected as the site for the 2014 World Championships.
Tickets are now on sale to the general public for the 30th running of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships.
