SYDNEY, (April 13, 2013) – The undefeated super mare Black Caviar (AUS) captured Saturday’s Darley TJ Smith Stakes at Royal Randwick and earned an automatic berth into the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint at through the Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series. The Breeders’ Cup Challenge is a global series of 67 stakes races whose winners earn automatic starting positions into a corresponding race of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships, which will be held at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif., Nov. 1-2.

Tom's remarkable leadership, accomplishments and his desire to make the Breeders' Cup World Championships the best event in sports will be difficult to replace. The 2013 Challenge series will consist of a total of 67 automatic qualifying races into the Breeders' Cup World Championships.
For the first time, travel allowances will be paid to all participants shipping from outside of California for this year’s Breeders’ Cup World Championships.
The Breeders’ Cup board voted today to maintain its race day medication policies for the 2013 Breeders’ Cup World Championships which were in place for the 2012 event.
