2014 Xpressbet Sprint

Recap

Work All Week had to work a bit to win the Xpressbet Sprint. After tracking pacesetter Fast Anna through the first half in :43.34, Work All Week took the lead, only to be challenged by 2013 Xpressbet Sprint champion Secret Circle in the final eighth. Holding off his bid, the Illinois-bred City Zip gelding finished a half-length ahead and paid $40.20, despite going into the race with a 7-for-7 record on dirt for Hawthorne-based trainer Roger Brueggemann and owner Midwest Thoroughbreds.
