Culinary Talents Throughout the Country to Gather at Santa Anita to Bring Luxurious Dining Options to Guests

(October 17, 2019) – The Breeders’ Cup, one of Thoroughbred horse racing’s most prestigious international events, today announces a roster of preeminent celebrity chefs who will be curating menu offerings for the 2019 Breeders’ Cup World Championships, taking place on Friday, November 1 and Saturday, November 2 at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California. The acclaimed culinary talents, consisting of Nancy Silverton, Adam Perry Lang, Sylvain Delpique, and Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo, will bring their signature styles and flavors to several of Santa Anita’s most luxurious seating areas throughout the two-day event, producing an extraordinary guest experience that spans all pillars of premier hospitality. By tapping such well-regarded talents, Breeders’ Cup continues efforts to combine the world’s most exciting horse racing, dining and fashion to create an unparalleled luxury lifestyle experience.

The celebrity chef line-up at the 2019 Breeders’ Cup World Championships will include:
- Nancy Silverton: The iconic figure behind some of Los Angeles’ most beloved restaurants such as Osteria Mozza, Pizzeria Mozza, and chi SPACCA, Nancy Silverton is one of the country’s most revered culinary talents. Silverton’s Italian specialties will be showcased at Santa Anita’s FrontRunner Restaurant & Bar on Friday, November 1 and in the Turf Terrace on Saturday, November 2.
- Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo: Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo are a James Beard Award-winning chef duo who have opened some of Los Angeles’ most popular hotspots, including Animal, Jon & Vinny’s and Son of a Gun. Shook and Dotolo will curate a signature menu for the Turf Terrace on Friday, November 1 and FrontRunner Restaurant & Bar on Saturday, November 2.
- Adam Perry Lang: The renowned pitmaster behind the acclaimed APL Restaurant in Hollywood, California will bring his artful interpretations of barbeque and steakhouse cuisine to Santa Anita. Lang’s menu will be featured in the Trophy Lounge on both Friday, November 1 and Saturday, November 2.
- Sylvain Delpique: The executive chef of ‘21’ Club, New York City’s iconic and historic dining destination, Sylvain Delpique has created a menu of American classics with contemporary twists for the Chandelier Room on both Friday, November 1 and Saturday, November 2.

27 times in 35 editions, the TVG Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner has been named the Eclipse Champion Two Year Old Male. 2019 hero Storm the Court, who upset the Juvenile field at odds of 45-1, could be the 28th horse to earn that honor. He has two wins and a grade 1 placing in four starts this year for earnings of $1,172,951.

While 27 of the colts who have won the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile have gone on to be named Eclipse Champion Two Year Old Male, the number is even higher for fillies after taking the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1).

As the national racing scene moves from a focus on the Breeders’ Cup to the fall and winter meets at Aqueduct and the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, many of racing’s brightest stars are being retired or freshened for 2020 campaigns.
