Cocktails & Conversation Welcomes Trainer Brendan Walsh To Wednesday’s Show
WHAT: “Cocktails & Conversation,” the weekly virtual happy hour series, returns Wednesday at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT. The 15th episode of the season will feature G1-winning trainer Brendan Walsh; hosted by Britney Eurton and Nick Luck of NBC Sports and joined by renowned mixologist and creator of Breeders’ Cup’s official cocktails Mark Tubridy.
This week’s cocktail is the Blood & Sand — a bourbon cocktail with a fruity twist made with Maker’s Mark Bourbon, sweet vermouth, cherry liqueur and orange juice.
In addition to the cocktail mixing segment, fans will be able to submit questions here for the hosts and Walsh to answer during the live stream. Throughout the cocktail hour viewers will be encouraged to donate to industry workers and communities in need through the official Breeders' Cup website.
All donations generated from Cocktails & Conversation are wholly donated to organizations benefitting the horse racing and hospitality industries, including the Race Track Chaplaincy of America, USBG National Charity Foundation, and Restaurant Workers Relief Program.
WHO: Ireland native Brendan Walsh joins us this week to discuss some of the top horses in his barn including Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) contender Maxfield, who captured the “Win and You’re In” Stephen Foster Stakes (G2) in June. Walsh took out his trainer license in 2011 and has since won over $24 million in earnings. Some of Walsh’s career highlights include Plus Que Parfait’s victory in the 2019 UAE Derby (G2) and Maxfield’s victory in the 2019 Claiborne Breeders' Futurity (G1). Prior to taking out his trainer’s license, Walsh honed in his horsemanship with Irish National Stud, Kildangan Stud, Mark Wallace, and as an assistant for fellow Irishman Eddie Kenneally.
WHEN: Wednesday, Sept. 15, at 5 p.m. ET
