Where to Watch/Listen During TVG.com Haskell Invitational Week 2019

The $1 million, Grade 1 TVG.com Haskell Invitational Stakes at Monmouth Park on Saturday, July 20, serves as a bridge between the recently concluded Triple Crown season for 3-year-olds and the Breeders’ Cup prep season that’s just getting underway and culminates in November. The Haskell will be crucial in determining the leaders in the 3-year-old division going forward and is also a Challenge Series “Win and You’re In” Presented by America's Best Racing qualifying race for the Nov. 2 Breeders’ Cup Classic, offering a fees-paid automatic berth to the winner.
NBC Sports will broadcast the TVG.com Haskell Invitational Stakes nationally on Saturday as the showcase of an hour-long show from Monmouth. The show will air on NBC, running from 5 to 6 p.m. Eastern, and will include interviews and features with Haskell connections from NBC Sports’ horse racing team. That team includes analysts Randy Moss and retired Hall of Fame jockey Jerry Bailey as well as reporters Donna Barton Brothers and Britney Eurton, among others. The Haskell Invitational post time is set for approximately 5:45 p.m. Eastern.
While NBC's broadcast from Monmouth Park on Saturday is the centerpiece of this week's racing coverage on television, NYRA's "Saratoga Live" program also enters its second week of providing comprehensive coverage of the elite Saratoga Race Course meet, which began on July 11 and runs through Labor Day. "Saratoga Live," which is produced in partnership with FOX Sports and is presented by America's Best Racing, Runhappy, and Claiborne Farm, will air each day of the Saratoga meet on FS2.
In addition to daily national coverage on FS2, Saratoga Live can be seen on regional sports networks including MSG Networks, and also on FOX Sports Prime Ticket, FOX Sports San Diego and Altitude Sports. Saratoga’s stakes schedule this week is highlighted by the $500,000, Grade 1 Coaching Club American Oaks on July 20 for 3-year-old fillies.
The broadcast team for "Saratoga Live" includes hosts Greg Wolf and Laffit Pincay III, handicapper and racing analyst Andy Serling, paddock analyst Maggie Wolfendale, reporter Acacia Courtney, retired Hall of Fame rider and analyst Gary Stevens, trainer Tom Amoss, handicapper Jonathan Kinchen, and handicapper and former Major League Baseball all-star Paul LoDuca. Larry Collmus, NYRA announcer and voice of the Triple Crown, provides live race calls.
In addition to the broadcasts on FS2, all Saratoga races will air on TVG as part of their coast-to-coast racing coverage. TVG will also broadcast the Haskell Invitational and all other races from Monmouth Park on July 20. And lastly, the network will provide comprehensive live coverage of racing throughout the West Coast’s premier summer meet at Del Mar, which begins on Wednesday, July 17. Del Mar hosts several stakes races during its opening five days, including the Grade 2, $250,000 Eddie Read Stakes on Sunday, July 21 for older horses on turf.
A highlight of the week’s radio coverage is “The Winner’s Circle” podcast presented The Stronach Group. The upcoming podcast airs July 20 at 10 a.m. Eastern on SB Nation Radio (subscribe and access past episodes via Apple Podcasts here) and is hosted by Bram Weinstein, with racing analysis from retired Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens. The featured guests for the July 20 podcast will be announced soon.
