Where to Watch/Listen Leading Up to a Big Del Mar Weekend

After an eventful – and very hot – weekend highlighted by Maximum Security’s win in the TVG.com Haskell Invitational Stakes, the Breeders’ Cup excitement stays at high momentum with two key prep races scheduled for the upcoming weekend at Del Mar.
On Saturday, the $300,000, Grade 1 Bing Crosby Stakes is a Challenge Series “Win and You’re In” Presented by America’s Best Racingautomatic qualifier for the Breeders’ Cup Sprint. On Sunday, Del Mar hosts the $300,000, Grade 1 Clement L. Hirsch Stakes, a “Win and You’re In” qualifier for the Longines Breeders’ Cup Distaff.
The Bing Crosby Stakes and Clement L. Hirsch Stakes will both be televised exclusively on TVG as part of their comprehensive, meet-long coverage live from Del Mar. First post at Del Mar on both Saturday and Sunday is at 5 p.m. Eastern, and post times for both Breeders’ Cup preps will be announced later this week.
In addition to Del Mar, TVG will also, as usual, broadcast races from other racetracks around North America, including Saratoga Race Course.
Saratoga’s racing is the focus of the ongoing "Saratoga Live" program produced by NYRA in partnership with FOX Sports, which began on July 11 and runs through Labor Day. "Saratoga Live," which is presented by America's Best Racing, Runhappy, and Claiborne Farm, will air each day of the Saratoga meet on FS2 and on various regional channels. Their upcoming broadcasts include extensive coverage of Saratoga's loaded Saturday racecard featuring the $600,000, Grade 2 Jim Dandy Stakes for 3-year-olds.
A highlight of the week’s radio coverage is “The Winner’s Circle” podcast presented The Stronach Group. The upcoming podcast airs July 27 at 10 a.m. Eastern on SB Nation Radio (subscribe and access past episodes via Apple Podcasts here) and is hosted by Bram Weinstein, with racing analysis from retired Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens. The featured guests for the July 27 podcast are NYRA racecaller and voice of the Triple Crown Larry Collmus and retired Hall of Fame jockey Julie Krone. Krone is hosting the first annual Julie Krone Junior Jockey Camp this week at Long Shadows Farm in Cambridge, N.Y.
