Overall, he won or placed in 20 of 25 lifetime starts, capping his career in style by setting a Belmont Park 1 ½-mile track record on grass in winning the 2001 Breeders’ Cup Turf by three-quarters of a length in 2:24.36. Other prominent wins by Fantastic Light came in the Group 1 Food Island Irish Champion Stakes in 2002; Ireland’s Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup and England’s Group 1 Prince of Wales Stakes in 2001; and the Grade 1 Man o’ War, Group 1 Hong Kong Cup and Group 3 Dubai Sheema Classic in 2000.
