Hootenanny has gotten around. Not many 2-year-olds can boast an international campaign that began with a debut win at Keeneland in April and ended with a victory in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf, after a third-place finish in the Rollicking Stakes at Pimlico, a win in the Windsor Castle Stakes over 23 other starters at Ascot in England, and a second in the Darley Prix Morny at Deauville in France. From the first crop of Quality Road, Hootenanny is owned by Michael Tabor, Susan Magnier, and Derrick Smith and trained by Wesley Ward. His three-quarters length win over stablemate Luck of the Kitten in the Juvenile Turf was the first in the Breeders' Cup for Ward.
