LEXINGTON, Ky. (August 19, 2014) – Breeders’ Cup Limited and Keeneland Association, host of the 2015 Breeders’ Cup World Championships, joined forces on Monday for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in the national cause to raise money to fight ALS, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or more widely called “Lou Gehrig’s Disease.”

Breeders’ Cup President Craig Fravel challenged this year’s Breeders’ Cup host, Santa Anita Park, and industry publications, The Blood-Horse, Thoroughbred Daily News and Daily Racing Form to do the same. Keeneland and Breeders’ Cup made a $1000 contribution to the ALS Association.

According to the ALS website, as of today more than $22.9 million in donations have been received by the association since July 29 through the Ice Bucket Challenge.
