In a dominant performance, Songbird ($3.20) took the lead at the start in the $2 million 14 Hands Winery Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies and the 3-5 favorite was never threatened in registering a scintillating 5 ¾-length victory that spawned thoughts of the first weekend in May.

Rachel’s Valentina, the last foal out of 2009 Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra, was second throughout, finishing 1 ¼ lengths ahead of Dothraki Queen.

Songbird’s final time of 1:42.73 for the mile and a sixteenth proved to be 1.06 seconds faster than the victorious Nyquist’s time for the same distance in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile for males.

The 2-year-old Medaglia d'Oro filly is trained by Jerry Hollendorfer for owner Fox Hill Farms.
